While I applaud Major League Baseball’s willingness to stand against the racist segregationists in Georgia’s state legislature, ultimately the decision to pull the 2021 MLB All-Star Game from Georgia is a missed opportunity if MLB does not do more than simply take its ball and go away.

2. There's a Storm Brewing in Baseball

There is a storm brewing in baseball and the current pandemic is exacerbating the situation. The current collective bargaining agreement (CBA) between Major League Baseball (MLB) and the Major League Baseball Players Association (MLBPA) was finalized on November 30, 2016, and is scheduled to expire on December 1, 2021.

3. Sports Law Development of the Week: Dustin Fowler's Negligence Suit Against White Sox Remanded to Illinois State Court

After suffering a significant injury at the White Sox's Guaranteed Rate Field in his June 2017 MLB debut, then-Yankees player Dustin Fowler sued the club in Illinois state court. After removal to federal court, the case was remanded to Illinois state court in late June.
